Valentin Kovatchev celebrates his twentieth anniversary in Malaga with this comprehensive exhibition with a selection of thirty-two works in oil painting, drawing and engraving, all of them created during the fruitful Malaga period.
Along these two decades, the artist turned again to drawing, oil painting and to another of his passions: the portrait, which he started in his childhood. For a long time he abandoned drawing and painting, in order to devote himself full-time to his own special etching technique, for which he is renowned.
Before settling down in Malaga, his brilliant background and his exceptional work had been recognised by international prizes and awards in Bulgaria, Greece and Japan, to which the artist has kept adding prizes won in Spain, and abroad, in Italy, Germany and Mexico during the rightly called “Spanish period”.
