"Two souls, one essence" Spain-Bulgaria: A Centenary of Diplomatic Relations

The present exhibition has been organized by the University of Malaga with the collaboration of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria and Fundación Málaga to commemorate a century of political, economic and cultural ties between Spain and Bulgaria, and through Kovatchev´s symbolic expression of universal feelings, it demonstrates that art is one of the most beautiful languages and the magic link that unites people, nations, dreams and souls.

The exhibition is composed by sixty works in oil painting, drawing, etching and zinc plates.

Byzantine iconography, the cradle of Bulgarian art, the Holy Week of Malaga with the “Spiritual Andalusia” Series, “The Pilgrims route to Santiago”, the great masters such as Velazquez and Picasso, the Andalusian horse, the legendary Thracian horses and “Don Quixote with a Bulgarian soul”, among others, constitute the main themes of this extraordinary exposition.

A major cultural event, with the presence, among other personalities, of the Ambassador of Bulgaria, Mr. Ivan Christov, and it comes to further deepen the already excellent bilateral relations, and offers a vision that will open new horizons towards knowledge, friendship and trust.
