Marbella will be the stage for the world premiere of “Lady of the Dawn” by Alejandro Casona, translated into English by Donald B. Gibbs, directed by Roberta G. Aaron and performed by Boardwalk Theatrical Association, S.C. . Since 1994 this association has brought Spanish culture through theatre in English language to the foreign community of THE COSTA DEL SOL which is represented by more than 150 nationalities.
The artist Valentin Kovatchev has especially created the magnificent image “The Lady of the Dawn” for both the project and the solo exhibition.
This unique exhibition of the artist´s work, puts together an exceptional selection of twenty women, from the myth of Eve, age old civilizations like the Egyptians, the Italian Renaissance and the Spanish Baroque with reinterpretations of the great masters like Botticelli, Da Vinci and Velasquez; peeking into the future with female androids to reach the sublime representation of maternity through a symbolic door to life, paradise or to the most remote areas of imagination itself.
The artist enters the magic world of dance, theatre, and Spanish literature to end finally as in the natural cycle of life, with the star work of the exhibition: Lady of the Dawn”, as homage to the great Spanish playwright.
The play and the art exhibition will be staged at the Palace of Fairs and Congresses of
Marbella, from 25th to 27th of February, 2011.
