VALENTÍN KOVATCHEV IN ARTEBILBAO'10

VK Art Gallery is proud to present, for the first time in Bilbao, a great selection of drawings, engravings, oil paintings and portraits by the Spanish artist of Bulgarian origin, Valentin Kovatchev.

Subjects as diverse and inspiring as the series “Anatomy of a Wild Bull” and the engraving suites: “Manolete”, “Picasso”, “Dali”, “Don Quixote with a Bulgarian soul”, “Tavromagia” (The Art of Bullfighting), “Las Meninas” (The Maids of Honour) and “Mona Lisa”, as well as the latest oil works “Robotikas” and “The Magic Chess, among others, make up the exhibition.

Kovatchev has received numerous national and international prizes and distinctions earned in Bulgaria, Japan, Greece, Germany, Italy, Mexico and Spain, and although this is his debut in the region of Biscay, his art has already gained popularity and admirers among the major collectionists in the area.

The Alhóndiga building which will host the first edition of ArteBilbao fair has been remodelled by the renowned French industrial designer Philippe Starck, who has converted the city´s old wine store into a superb recreational, sporting and cultural hotspot.
